I admittedly am a little obsessed with knives. Not that I own many...I don't. I love to look and wonder which brands are sharper and just all around better knives than others. I happened to buy this knife (splurge for me), and I promise you this is the best knife ever. Well worth the money, and more. I actually bought the 7 inch Chef's. I thought I'd be a little intimidated, as this is a bit big for me, but it fits the hand comfortably. VERY sharp, so respect the knife. Better than my Henckles or Zwillings. Leaves them in the dust. You will not be disappointed. Beautiful blade, each special, different, as this knife is made from metals mixed then folded. YOu can read about the process...it's amazing, hard work, but you end up with a piece of art. Sharp art.
I've quit wasting money on the cheap knives, and I am very happy with what I've found. And these are midrange cost knives, but you get excellent quality. Very satisfying after a long day at work to come home and cut up some veggies with this knife. It's like a mindfulness exercise...you focus on the knife, the cutting, and pretty soon you're in the moment. Enjoy!

I love the Shun knifes. They are expensive but life warranty and I had only great experiences with them. One of my shun knife broke (just the tip) and I had it fixed for free (you just have to ship it to them. So I just got this one and I find it beautiful on top of extremely sharp and well balanced.

Perhaps the sharpest out-of-the-box knife I've ever handled, I'd be concerned shaving with it. This is a good thing and it can be sent in for sharpening (the edge cut is unique, best left to a pro). I purchased this blade for my Mother for Christmas, to say the least, she is very happy with it. The balance is very good, the materials are A+, and it looks like a champ. She may get a different variety for her birthday.
