Great pan. Heats evenly, cleans in a breeze. Happy I bought pan with a lid. Would recommend without hesitation. Amazon is wonderful to deal with, I will continue using its service.

After spending a great deal of time reading reviews on woks I decided on the Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen Excalibur Nonstick 14-Inch Lidded Wok. It seemed the best for a very reasonable price and it received glowing reviews on Amazon.
Boy was I wrong.
Out of the box it looked good, seemed sturdy and had good weight. The non-stick surface worked excellent. Nothing sticks at all. However, on the first use the coating pealed away from the outside bottom. Most likely because even under moderate heat the pan warps into an outward bubbled bottom. This bulging bottom causes it to wobble to-and-fro and makes it impossible to transfer heat. The heat distribution is so poor that there is only a small portion of the pan bottom that gives you that sizzle you expect from a wok. The sides remain so cool that the pan is easily picked up from the rim while in use.
I used it once and retired it to the storage area destined for a garage sale. Don't waste your money on this one.

This wok was exactly what I was looking for: large but manageable, and has a great lid! As a recent post-graduate living without a girlfriend nearby, I have been surviving mostly off of stir fry, so I use this almost every single night in one way or another. It is a bit heavy, but it doesn't bother me too much. I could see if my girlfriend tried to use it when she was here, it could be a bit of an issue to flip the food with a single hand. Fortunately, I do most of the cooking by myself! Thanks to the non-stick surface over the entire wok, it's very easy to clean.
I am not sure if it's because of the surface area of the bottom of the wok or the inconsistency of my electric stove (probably both), but the wok seems to heat up extremely easily and then retains that heat for longer than I would expect. I try to remember to never bring the heat up past where I want it to be, but with my other pans I will use heat them up on a higher heat then bring it down...and I can't do that with this pan, so I forget sometimes.
Other than that minor complaint, it's great for stir fry of all kind! I do have to say be aware if your arms are out of shape, you may have some problems handling this without two hands though, and be careful with electric stove tops.
